A dear and precious friend of mine, Edwene Gaines, told me once that her process of forgiveness always seemed to begin with, "I forgive you, you ornery thing!" I had to laugh... my willingness to approach forgiving myself or anyone else... often seemed to begin with much stronger language than that... but, at least... it is a beginning.

And that is what is most important about any healing process...
That I, that you, that we... just be willing to begin...

Being willing to begin...
Being willing to take the first step...
Being willing to try...
Being willing to open our heart to learn to forgive...
Ourselves and each other...
Is a beginning... Is the beginning...

If you are having trouble... beginning... just sit quietly with yourself...

Let forgiveness itself speak to your heart
Sit with forgiveness for awhile... let forgiveness itself tell you...
What it means... what it does... and how it works.

For me, mostly what I have come to know is this...
Forgiveness is not a one time event...
It is a process... sometimes a long process...
Depending on how deeply rooted is your grudge...
Your resentment, hatred, fear, hurt, sadness...
Yes, all of that and more.

The Heart Of The Matter is always about
Forgiveness ~ Acceptance ~ Hope ~ Love ~ Life
First, ourselves... then others.

So, what do I hope for beyond this?

Well, in the famous words of Wil Schroter, "Go big or go home!"

I believe and trust and hope each day
About all that I love about life and all that I hope for in my life.

I hope that you will nurture all that you love...
And all that you hope for in your life,
Along with me as we each begin again... Each day...
Sometimes as we... begin again... several times a day
To accept, nurture, hope, love and live our lives
With all our heart and all our hope and all our love.
